The answer to every problem we face is found in the Word of God. The greatest need that all of us have is the need for salvation from sin through a true relationship with our Savior Jesus Christ. Once this relationship is correctly established, many other problems that face us in life are more easily solved. A relationship with Christ is not gained through good works or church attendance or anything that we can accomplish ourselves. It is simply accepting the free gift of salvation from sin that God has given to us through the death, burial and resurrection of His son Jesus Christ.
First, we must realize our need of a savior. The Bible states in Romans 3:23 that "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God." No person, other than Jesus, who has lived or ever will live on this earth is sinless before a Holy God.
There is punishment associated with all wrongful deeds. God's punishment for sin is death. Romans 6:23 teaches that "the wages of sin is death."
The greatest news that you will ever hear is that a Perfect Savior died in the place of imperfect men to take their punishment for them, forgive their sins and give them an opportunity to live eternally in heaven!
Corinthians 5:21 shows us that Christ took upon himself all of man's sins in order to pay our sin debt. "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." Romans 10:9-10 tells man exactly what is necessary: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." We believe in our heart and confess with our mouth Jesus Christ to be saved. God says plainly that this is all that is necessary.
I ask you to consider your spiritual condition today. If you are depending on anything other than the shed blood of Christ for your salvation, God says in His Word that he does not know you. Right now you can accept the Lord Jesus Christ into your heart and life and become one of His children. A simple prayer, like the one that follows, is all that is needed to secure salvation for your eternal soul.
Dear Lord, Lord, I am a sinner. I confess my sins to you. I ask that you accept me as your child not because of any good thing that I have ever done but because of the payment Christ made for my sins on the cross of Calvary. I accept the free gift of salvation. Please come into my heart and life and allow your Holy Spirit to guide me that I may grow and learn more of you, so that I may please you more each day. In Christ's name I ask these things. Amen
If you prayed a prayer like this one we would love to know of your decision and be of a help to you. Please take the time to email us. This is the best decision that you will ever make in life. We pray that you will be able to visit our church or become a part of a church near you that can teach you more about how to live by faith in the Savior who gave His life for you.
